I don't understand the other two reviews. While I did spend my pre-visit with her assistant who by the way was totally professional and explained everything she did and answered in detail every question that I had, I did not feel rushed in any way and I had a lot of questions. When Dr. Townshend came in she also spent a lot of time with me and again answered every question that I had. She explained every finding and suggested some economical solutions to my vision problems. She easily could have recommended tests or expensive eye wear but instead told me that I did not need those. I could easily(because I had no underlying problems, just age related vision trouble) use over the counter glasses and that is what I chose to do. I would recommend the entire staff to anyone I know. They were prompt, efficient, professional, friendly, informative and my experience was wonderful! By the looks of her waiting room, I am not alone. If you are looking for a wonderful, compassionate eye doctor/surgeon I recommend you give her a visit.
She a wonderful kid professional Doctor who gives gives me injections for my migraines. Without her I would BE bedridden she has a bubbly personality. Her staff goes above and beyond for their clients and I adore them ALL!!

This doctor spent all of 10 minutes with us. My daughter is only 8 and no explanations of testing were given to me. Her assistant did all of the testing and I had to stop her to ask some questions or else it would've been less time.
Dr Townsend has been my children's eye doc for years. She gave my son thorough neurological exams after a concussion received. She took her time, always does, answers questions completely. She is an eye surgeon, so she takes eye issues seriously and we've never felt rushed. Her assistants know their stuff and are always sweet, professional and respectful with my kids. As a matter of fact, we didn't even know my preschooler had a vision issue. We took him to her because of a blocked tear duct. She discovered, thanks to their in depth exams, that he had a serious stigmatism and week eye. He would have developed a lazy eye if she hadn't caught and corrected it with glasses for a few years. I trust her completely and her staff.
